Who comes to the event?

• The majority of our visitors are families or young people. Around 40% of all spectators are residing within a 20-mile radius of the town. Another 35% are tourists staying in Devon on holiday, many of whom visit specifically for the event

• Another 20% are people who visit from outside of the area just for the Airshow and Carnival Day

• The remaining 5%, and growing fast are the aviation enthusiasts from across the UK and Europe.

• Those inside the designated crowd areas tend mainly to be families who use the beaches as a base for the whole day arriving prior to the airshow from 1000 and staying until around 1700.

 Situated on the South coast of Devon, Dawlish is home to 12,000 residents with holiday accommodation for a further 8,000 in the summer.

The heart of the event takes place right in the town centre with the main display line just 100m away on the sea front.

With helicopter landing and display areas at the Dawlish Warren resort and a hill top site South of the town alongside to the main A379 the event is watched from a variety of environments to suit people of all backgrounds and ages.
