At Dawlish we pride ourselves
on providing the public the opportunity to get up close to
as many aircraft as possible. Most of our spectators may not
usually get the chance to see such aircraft apart from in
the air.
Due to our location all of
our aircraft on view are helicopters. They land at either of
2 sites (Dawlish Warren or the South Dawlish "Smugglers Inn"
site during the morning of the airshow. Once made safe their
air and ground crews are on hand to talk to the public and
show them around the aircraft.
Both sites present superb
photographic opportunities in a contrasting environments.
Dawlish
Warren Area
The Dawlish Warren Site is located on the Green
next to the beach. Aircraft
will arrive between 9am and 10.30am and remain until they
display some time in the afternoon.
Once they have landed the
public will be allowed up close and be able to speak to the
aircrew about the aircraft and being involved with them.
This site will be home to the smaller and more historic of
our helicopters.
The
South Dawlish "Smugglers Inn" Area
The
Smugglers Inn site is home to the larger helicopters
and situated, strangely enough, to the Smugglers Inn.
Aircraft will land here from 10.30am and again remain until
they participate in the display, those helicopters not
flying in the afternoon's show also remain here due the less
public nature of the site. |
